REVILLA HAILS CREATION OF INTER-AGENCY COMMITTEE ON RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR RAILWAYS

SENATOR Ramon Bong Revilla on Tuesday (April 2) praised President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos, Jr. (PBBM) for creating an inter-agency committee to oversee government's right-of-way (ROW) activities for the country’s various railway projects.

Under Administrative Order No. 19 s. 2024 recently signed by the President, the Inter-Agency Committee for ROW Activities for National Railway Projects is tasked “to study and devise an efficient and collaborative mechanism to streamline the process of land acquisition necessary for the implementation of all railway projects.”

“Binabati po natin ang Pangulong Bongbong Marcos sa kanyang desisyon para mapabilis ang mga matagal nang naaantalang railway projects,” the Senate Committee on Public Works Chairman expressed.

The said inter-agency committee shall be chaired by the secretary of the Department of Transportation, and shall be co-chaired by the secretary of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development.

The newly-created committee is also mandated to identify appropriate services or programs concerning land acquisition i.e. livelihood, income restoration, and resettlement.

Moreover, it has the power to consolidate and mobilize agency resources to streamline budgeting, deliberate and resolve issues of grievances, and create technical working groups.

“Our President is really both a visionary and a realist. Sinisiguro niya na ang mga pangarap makamit ng ating bansa ay naka-angkla sa konkretong plano at aksyon. PBBM is really bringing our country to greater heights. With this new committee to focus on right-of-way, we see more railway projects coming into reality,” Revilla closed. -30-
